In utter desperation at the thought of Antonio Costa messing more of Alta for the next 3 years I’m closing down the blog.
No really, I’ve moved out of the area for work purposes and don’t expect to be back for a while.

By the way Mr Salgado says ”People are right, in fact, no one understand why things are delayed so long” over and over again…
Mr Salgado is the man responsible for planning Urbanisation in Lisbon and has removed the council’s approval for the construction of the main link of Alta to the rest of the city (which took 15 years to get approved)
There is your answer Mr Salgado.

OK, I’m going a bit crazy here as the layers get thicker it’s difficult to see where the problems lie. Sometimes alienating oneself from some is an attempt to hide an inability to work without corruption. Anyone who has worked with someone corrupt will know this.
Anyway not wanting to draw any conclusions I leave with my final mosquito bite for the evening…

These are the proposals which affect our beloved area:

Sadly not very much… at least the parks will be well kept (?)
The building in question to be expropriated is actually in Lumiar and not part of SGAL’s “area” ie the new area closer to the metro, however it will allow them to finish building the road between the two parks. I also have a suspicion (though don’t quote me) that the mention of estrada da chelas is for the company that also lies in the way of the road.

Since my last post on PRT and why it would be a good idea in Alta de Lisboa, the Heathrow project has gone ahead and construction is under way. Great news. Let’s hope this spreads (at the very least to the plans for the new airport). One would really hope that the new system is used more widely in Portugal and we will begin to see the beginning of a new era in transport.
There are some new videos on youtube which demonstrate ULTra’s and other’s offerings to the market.

The last is video is the most inspiring as it’s been running for so long. Let’s hope our politicians and town planners see some merit in this.
