Welcome to my newest blog. Alta de Lisboa is a new(ish) area in Lisbon which has been designed from the ground up. It was this planning that drew me here in the first place.
There are already lots of blogs about Alta de Lisboa and I hope this blog will bring a slightly different angle by adding an Anglo Saxon view of the area.
I will first look at the area as a whole then (in later posts) cover smaller issues that affect the area.
I hope to be objective and not biased. Although I live here, I am not going to try and sell Alta for SGAL (the group that are managing the development of the area) neither do I wish to bring it down. My sole intent is to give an insider’s view to Alta de Lisboa.

How long have you been a Lisbon resident? I will be traveling to Lisbon later this summer to study the Alta de Lisboa development, and and trying to gather as much information as I can about it before I leave. Would it be alright for me to email you with some questions? My email is edited out
I hope to hear from you soon.

I have answered your comment by email
A public reply is also suitable… so….
I’ve lived in the Lisbon area for more than 10 years. I moved here (Alta) three years ago.
I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you have.
PS I’ll edit your comment so as to remove your email from public view (likely to attract spam)

i have an apartment in JSB. I loved your inside view of living in Alta de Lisboa. I have never lived in Lisbon. I got to stay in my apartment for a week in may. I have to say that I loved it. the design of the building was great. The front door neighbour was lovely. her dinner was delicious.
My son and I spend time colecting fossils in the Parque Oeste. i got to visit the Primary and High School. At both places I was recieved with open arms. They showed me the schools and I got an idea of how it feels to be a teacher and a child there.
I hope one day we can be neighbours

Thanks for the great feedback Ana. I’m sorry you spent such a short time here. Are you based abroad?
I walk around Parque Oeste nearly every day… it is an amazing space.
I will be updating the site shortly with some info about a particular street…. stay tuned
